Utilitech Flashlight Review
This will be a short review of the Utilitech flashlight I picked up at Lowe’s. Don’t let the shortness of this review fool you though, this flashlight is a keeper! I carry this flashlight in my bug out bag and also my auto emergency kit, plus I have another one that floats around the house depending on the situation. This small flashlight has a very solid construction, it is quite heavy for its size, with a tactical look and feel and the serrated bezel in case you need to bash something with it. I purchased the flashlight at a local Lowe’s store for about $20, and that was certainly money well spent.
This is a simple light with only one setting. There are no blinking or strobe settings, it is either on or off. There is also no functional zoom or beam widening on the light. Some people don’t care for the lack of options, but for what I use this flashlight for I actually prefer it. The flashlight lists at 300 lumens and I believe that when the batteries are new you will get all 300 lumens out of it. The batteries last quite a while but there is a noticeable, but not too detrimental, loss of brightness after a few uses. The light then maintains its brightness for a while and you will definitely know when it is time to change the batteries.
There is one option on the Utilitech flashlight, and that is the belt clip. This is helpful, but the light is a bit large for packing on a belt in my opinion. Again, this is actually one of my “go to” flashlights in the house and if I ever see them on sale again, I will be picking up a few more of them. You can find a link to them HERE.
