Aquaponics is a sustainable living alternative to the grocery store. It is the production of plants and fish that you can do in the confines of your own home. It can be as big or as small a process as you would like. How can you get started?
Green Acre Aquaponics is holding a workshop in Mays Landing, New Jersey next month. Attendees will learn how to build the Green Acre Home Hybrid system. The workshop will also cover the basics of aquaponics, system management and construction basics.
There will be a hands on section in which attendees will work with instructors to build a Green Acre Home Hybrid System. Attendees will receive a take home guide, complete with construction drawings.
The 14 December workshop cost $179.95. For more information or to register, visit http://www.greenacreaquaponics.com/one-day-backyard-trainings/.
Unlike traditional farming, aquaponics uses less water. In fact Green Acre Aquaponics states it uses 90% less water. It is truly an environmentally friendly solution to the need for locally grown food.
